This year's show was by far the biggest and best yet! MORE Cars, Bands, People and fUN! Over 800 + vehicles showed, over 20 live acts played, over 1/2 dozen events took place, and over 3500 people attended....with NO PROBLEMS!!! You ALL Rule! The response has been overwhelmingly positive from everyone! Thanks to ALL! Especially Kahunaville for hosting the HRHD, and going all out to make the whole show possible! THANKS! Once again the ROCK-n-RODS KUSTOM,CLASSIC + BEATER CAR SHOW was a Extra Super Possibly Blow Out of a Time! EVERYONE that was involved was the Greatest! Possibly the FUNNEST car show around! Thanks to KAHUNAVILLE, they did all they could to make the ROCK-n-RODS at home. And went way out of their way to make the EVENING of ROCKABILLY go smooth as silk.

The Positive Response has been overwhelming from those that attended--spectators, vendors, musicians, my Mom! The Crowd was happy, smiling, and loving every inch of the Kahunaville complex. There were cars all over, even on the river deck! And what a wild bunch of rides that showed up. Plenty of new faces and cars along with our long time pals--Tim Albriecht's Pirate Kustom; What Is It? came from NY area. There was a wild indescribable Kustom from the 1950's that even the owner couldn't say for sure what it IS! Of Course the Dragula was dragged by Nippullini, and Klause + Cindy had their wild home built early 1950's Chevy "Elcamino" that they shipped here from Sweden! Guys from the EzRods, Rumblers, Phila Modifiers, Karb Kings, So What? Speed Shop, the Hot Heads, Plastic Butchers, American Pride, and other clubs were there showing off their ve-hick-ills!

The PINSTRIPERS came out and had fun. Thanks to them all and Jim Cartier (Ed Roth's illegitimate son), Jim's Lettering (they did the shirt design), NY Anthony and the rest.

The Charity didn't show up but we sent them the $ we raised.

The MODEL CAR CONTEST was better than last year, with a pile of plastic by RED from American Pride, and some other like-minded glue heads. Let's see more of you coming out! The DAY was incredible...a beauuuutiful day sandwiched in between a week of yuckky mess! The weather gods smiled on the ROCK-n-RODS again! A Perfect day to look at cars, girls, bands, bikes, art and the sky! People were really digging the LIVE BANDS on the RIVERDECK! A Comfortable and roomy place to eat, drink and see bands! What a novel idea...some one should tell the club owners in Philly about this. They may want to replace the dark, dingy, urine-smelling crap hole atmosphere with something a bit more civil.

The KINGPINS with our pal Flaming Dick had them rockin', the SHARK SKINS had 'em surfin', local Wilmington boys 330 HEMI had them racin', and the STRAIGHT 8s shot strait to the top and have been booked back by KAHUNAVILLE! The Day was full of sights, sounds and smiling faces! The food was good. I like the REFRIED MASHED POTATOES, or what ever they are...they are sooo good they have to be bad. The day was a buzz until after the AWARDS, and there were cars in the lot all night. What a GREAT CROWD! GREAT SHOW! GREAT DAY! THANKS!

The EVENING OF ROCKABILLY was a memorable, once in a life time event! The First Lady of Rockabilly Wanda Jackson played a extra long set, (even after going on extra late) and WOWWED the CROWD fronting up the incredible LUSTRE KINGS! WANDA sounded great and amazed everyone! She is still the Queen and the Rockinest Grandma around! The LUSTRE KINGS were exceptional, and floored the crowd. CHARLIE GRACIE and FULL BLOWN CHERRY had the room standing and dancing like it was 1959 again! Charlie has a charisma and talent that brings people to life and FULL BLOWN CHERRY rose to the occasion with one of the best sets that they have ever played! The Phantom Drifters rocked hard and set the stage for the FABULOUS PONTANI SISTERS. These three dancing dames put the "show" in "showgirl" and the "voom" in "vavava voom!" They will have even more routines in the fall and will thrill us all! The Show ran late and unfortunately THE ROCKATS did not get to play! I apologize to THEM and everyone that came to see them! The ROCKATS will be back at the HRHD in SEPT! and I talked with DIBBS on the ROOTSROCKABILLYROADHOUSE Radio Show right after the ROCK-n-RODS and they were thrilled to see WANDA JACKSON and happy to come back in the fall!
